Different footage: The recap uses a close-up of Pilar filmed from over Malcolm's shoulder at the restaurant in San Francisco (screen capture 1) that was not part of the preceding episode. The closest match in the actual scene in # 196 is screen grab 2.

The main title is revamped with a new portrait on LORENZO LAMAS' card.
The picture was specifically filmed for the current version of this season's main title in the Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion living room while shooting the current episode.

Fictional entity: Beckley's Shoes, a Tuscany shoe store, is mentioned.

The filming location for Tommy, Kelly and Paco's favorite hangout in Tuscany, the Roadhouse, is what used to be Des Regan's Irish Pub (nowadays Great American Joe's Bar & Grill) in Burbank, CA.

In his conversation with Tommy, Paco mentions River City as a territory that his gang and Raúl's gang from Sutterville fight about. It is apparently another town in the Tuscany Valley or nearby.

An establishing clip of the Bank of America skyscraper in San Francisco is used to introduce the building where the law office of Maggie's divorce lawyer, Cynthia Wallace, is located in downtown San Francisco.
This building was featured in # 158 already (compare there).

In her meeting with Cynthia, Maggie mentions she and Richard cross-adopted the boys right after their marriage the previous year. Also compare # 175 in that context.

The end credits list JENNIFER BASSEY as Mary Lou Wallace by mistake. But as it becomes apparent in the end credits of # 201 and in the dialog between Maggie and her attorney, the character's first name is Cynthia, not Mary Lou.
Mary Lou was the writers' original choice before they decided to rename the character Cynthia.

Product placement: Richard, Michael and Kevin play with Lego Duplo, the popular construction toy.

The Tuscany café where Lance and Pilar are having lunch is what used to be Cafe Rosalind (nowadays The Studio Cafe) in Studio City, CA.

The Tuscany street Ben drives along is approximately the 4500 to 4200 blocks of Tujunga Avenue in Studio City, CA in real life.
James Thomas Stained & Leaded Glass, one of the stores along that street, by the way, is a real business.

The Tuscany City Council is mentioned for the first time. This council is obviously in charge of the city only, whereas the Board of Supervisors is in charge of Tuscany Valley County.

GILBERT GARCIA, the actor who plays one of the Tuscany City Councillors this episode, also portrayed the Falcon Crest Winery Building foreman in seasons 6 and 7.

Mistake: The shots of Tuscany City Councillor Barbara Cushing and Richard in his New Globe office are from various takes that were combined in the editing process. This becomes apparent when Barbara first hands her cup with the saucer to Richard, but, in the subsequent frame filmed from across, holds just the cup on its handle. Again, this is the typical mistake caused by the particular close-up filming technique — check # 001 (Chase and Maggie at the Gioberti Family Cemetery) for details.

Cast and crew background: Executive producer CAMILLE MARCHETTA apparently likes working with actor TOM FUCCELLO (Tuscany City Council Councillor # 2). They previously worked together on "Dallas", where he portrayed Dave Culver.

Amos and Maggie talk about the centennial birthday of a Tuscany painter being a week away. Her name is Isabel Dunn, a character that will never be mentioned again.
Real-life allusion: Maggie mentions the German painter MAX BECKMANN, an expressionist. Interestingly enough, the dialog connects him with the fictional historic character of Isabel Dunn as Maggie says she was his protégé.

The interior set of the marriage commissioner's office (Lance and Pilar's wedding) is the same as Cynthia Wallace's law office set. To trim down production cost, the book shelves were filmed so closely in the wedding scene that nothing else of the room was in the camera angle.

The filming location for the Tuscany Valley hillside road (Lance and Pilar in his car after their wedding) is the berm near the heavily filmed bend seen in # 073, 084, 089, 113, 121, 135, 137, 148, 172, 174, 176, 180, 191, 192 and 196 — behind stage 4 on the backlot of CBS-MTM STUDIOS (now RADFORD STUDIO CENTER). Click here for a sketch of the multi-purpose use of this part of the studio grounds.

Agretti Residence bathroom set: This set only used in this episode is actually the redressed interior set of the entry to the master bedroom and master bathroom of Richard and Maggie's ranch. The hallway in front (from where Ben watches Anna) is also the redressed ranch hallway. The director of photography, however, chose an unusual angle so that the striking shape of the set can hardly be recognized by the audience.
LORIMAR's original blueprints of this set and many others are available for DFCF members in the Show – Production Office – Filming Locations – Movie Studios – Interior Sets section.

The cheval mirror in the bathroom at the Agretti Residence is the same prop that was used in Emma's bedroom in the Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion in # 193.

License plate number of Ben's red Chrysler LeBaron convertible: 2HGI848 (always the back plate and sometimes the front plate, too) and 2CSI908 (sometimes the front plate). What a silly prop policy to have two different numbers on the same car. Besides, the one on the front of the automobile is the prop masters' favorite number, which has become a real embarrassment for the show (see # 196 for details).

The place where Raúl and his gang force Ben's car off the Tuscany Valley road is actually located in Griffith Park in Los Angeles.
Mistake: For a short moment, parts of the lighting crew's equipment can be seen at the roadside in a wide angle shot.

Raúl's gang has a red 1988 Chevrolet C/K-2500 car.

Season time frame:
Giving respect to the episode chronology up to # 199, the current episode must open on Sunday, 03/05/1989 and close on Wednesday, 03/08/1989 (night of the car crash).
