The aerial view of San Francisco over Financial District with Lafayette Park in the foreground and the Oakland Bay Bridge in the background (filmed in eastern direction) is stock footage from a film library. It is from an earlier time than 1982 because the 101 California Building has not been built yet.

An old establishing shot of the Gioberti Winery with the prop sign saying "Gianinni Winery" is reused. This is apparently wrong because the company has been called Gioberti Winery since # 114. This is hardly a post-production mistake because no updated exterior shots have been filmed at Stags' Leap since season 5.

Product placement: The New York Times newspaper as well as The Village Voice and Tempo magazines are featured (Emma and Vince's wedding announcement).

Fictional entity: The back of the Tempo magazine advertises the fictional Joclyn Chandlery company.

Inside joke: The Wallengren Limousine Service in Chicago used by Eric and Vickie is named after this episode's writer and the show's supervising producer, ERNIE WALLENGREN. Nice prop!

The limo service's counter is actually the reception area in building 2 at CBS-MTM STUDIOS (now RADFORD STUDIO CENTER), which was previously used as the KRDC foyer (compare # 074).

Eric Stavros' Global Express National Credit Card number is 317 9090 842.
The expiration date is covered by the thumb in the close-up. It is only legible on the prop itself (second photo): "Dec. 31". This, however, raises the question what is meant by that date. If it is supposed to be "Dec 31 of the current year", the year is clearly missing, which would be reason for any merchant to decline the card. If it is supposed to mean "Dec 2031" (which would be the next possible year ending in "31", counting from 1987), it would be more than odd because credit cards usually expire within a few years, but not within 44+ years. From that perspective, it was a smart decision of the director to have the expiration obscured on film.

Different camera angles in the sneak preview and the scene itself: When Lance stands up in the jail visiting room, the sneak preview shows a wide angle shot (left photo); in the scene itself, however, a close-up from a different angle is featured.

Product placement: Eric and Vickie drink Perrier-Jouët Champagne (Fleur de Champagne) again.

Mistake: When Vince looks at Chao-Li in the Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion, he seems to look somewhere behind Lance, but Chao-Li is standing to Lance's right (from Vince's POV).
In the usual process of making a movie or a TV show, scenes are shot at least twice — as a wide angle shot and in close-up, which bears the risk of inconsistencies. Compare # 001 (Chase and Maggie at the Gioberti Family Cemetery) for the advantages and disadvantages of this shooting procedure.

Del Oro set — inconsistency: Next to the front entrance, a wall or an extremely wide door frame can be noticed (plant in foreground). This part of the set is much wider than the actual door frame in the real building.
LORIMAR's original blueprints of this set and many others are available for DFCF members in the Show – Production Office – Filming Locations – Movie Studios – Interior Sets section.

Deleted scene: This episode's director's cut contained a scene in which Angela, entering the Del Oro lobby, happens to see Melissa and Dan, reacting to the cozy sight of the two of them together. They are unaware that Angela observes them. Angela has a troubled expression on her face. This scene was removed in post-production.

The establishing shot of Boston, MA is stock footage from a film library. It is filmed from the Charles River Reservation Park and features Beacon Hill (in southeastern direction).

Early script drafts suggested that, towards the end of act 2, Chase and Maggie arrive on the street in front of Wainwright's twin brother's home in Boston in a rental car before they step towards the front door. This part of the scene was omitted in rewrites.

The second establishing shot of Boston, MA is also stock footage from a film library. It is a northeastern view of downtown with the Boston Commons park in the center as well as Boylston Street (right next to the building with the little tower) and St. James Avenue with the John Hancock Tower (far right).

The set used as Wainwright's twin brother's house in Beacon Hill is the same set used as Chase's new home in the Tuscany Valley; it just underwent some minor redecoration and refurnishing, and the double-door walk-in closet was replaced by a wall.

The painting of a ship at sea in the entry of Wainwright's house is the same prop that was used in the hallway to Kit's hotel room at the Carlyle of Nob Hill in # 141.

Strange: Why did Cole not find out Jeff had a twin brother when he did his research in Boston in # 126? — The writing staff apparently had no idea of creating the character then.

Season time frame: This episode depicts the events two months after Kevin's birth. As he was born in late January 1987, this episode must be around the end of March 1987.

The New Globe Executive Office Annex is portrayed by CBS-MTM (RADFORD STUDIO CENTER) Administration Building again (also compare # 148 and — for the general use of this building — # 074). This time, the scene is filmed on the northern terrace of the building, which usually portrays the Blainfield's (see # 145, for instance).
LORIMAR's original map of this part of the studio lot is available for DFCF members in the Show – Production Office – Filming Locations – Movie Studios – Exterior Sets section.

Mistake: In the scene in front of the New Globe Executive Office Annex, Richard's hand is on the door of his limo in the first frame (close-up), but no longer there in the next frame (wide angle).
Once again, this is the typical mistake caused by the particular close-up filming technique — check # 001 (Chase and Maggie at the Gioberti Family Cemetery) for details.

The interiors of the hotel Maggie and Chase are staying at in Boston are filmed in the foyer of the CBS-MTM (RADFORD STUDIO CENTER) Administration Building. It was also used as a hotel in San Francisco in # 147; also compare # 074 for the heavy use of this filming location.

Product placement: Wendell mentions Inspector Gadget, the main character of the 1980's animated cartoon TV series by the same name.

Inside joke: Harry Baum, the record producer hired by Angela to produce Melissa's album "Tuscany Queen" and who also produced the record "I Stabbed My Foot" by "The Mud Eaters", calls Angela "Babe". Angela then repeats: "Babe, indeed." — "Babe" is one of JANE WYMAN's nicknames on the set.

Chase and Maggie's rental car in Boston is a gray 1985 Dodge Lancer.

The filming location for the cemetery is near the lagoon on the backlot of CBS-MTM STUDIOS (now RADFORD STUDIO CENTER), which was used for other purposes in # 089 (details see there in particular), 113, 124, 131, 135, 144, 146 and 152. The fence and gate are the same props that were used as the Gioberti Family Cemetery in # 147.
LORIMAR's original map of this part of the studio lot is available for DFCF members in the Show – Production Office – Filming Locations – Movie Studios – Exterior Sets section.

Jeffrey Wainwright's gravestone shows the correct spelling of the name again. Also compare # 119.

The third establishing shot of Boston, MA is also stock footage from a film library. It is a northeastern view of downtown — the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Clarendon Street.

Maggie's hotel suite in Boston is the same interior set as the one used for the bedroom in the Agretti Residence. Only some minor changes were made to save production costs.
LORIMAR's original blueprints of this set and many others are available for DFCF members in the Show – Production Office – Filming Locations – Movie Studios – Interior Sets section.

Inside joke: "Sometimes I wish I would just wake up one morning and find this whole past year had been a bad dream." — Maggie's line about the difficult time in her life is the writers' most critical allusion to their producer colleagues' 1985-86 "dream season" of "Dallas" (another LORIMAR production). The "dream season" has been one of the most controversially discussed decisions in TV history; the "Dallas" producers chose to explain away the events of a whole year by turning them into a character's (VICTORIA PRINCIPAL's Pamela Barnes Ewing) nightmare.

Mistake: In the scene in the Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion, music producer Harry Baum first looks away from Veronique (Melissa) in the wide angle shot, but looks straight into her face in the subsequent close-up.
This is the typical mistake caused by the particular close-up filming technique again as stated in # 001 (Chase and Maggie at the Gioberti Family Cemetery).

One of the songs Melissa has to record is entitled "Let's Scamper Together".

Mistake: In the scene with Melissa being exposed as a singer by Angela in the Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion, the close-up of Dan and the wide angle shot are from different takes that were combined in the editing process. This becomes apparent because Dan's hands are in different positions in subsequent frames.
This is the typical mistake caused by the particular close-up filming technique again as stated in # 001 (Chase and Maggie at the Gioberti Family Cemetery).

Mistake: Maggie tells Richard Chase's grandfather built the Gioberti House. It was not built by Jasper, but by Joseph, Chase's great grandfather, as season 1 revealed.

The Church of Our Saviour in San Gabriel, CA is used as a filming location again. It portrays a church in the Tuscany Valley this time, as it also will in # 207. It was previously used as a church of a Marysville convent (compare # 099).
The location manager's original choice of filming location was St. Brendan's Church in Los Angeles, which had already been used in season 3 for the St. Timothy Church interiors, but it was not available this time.

The interior set for the rectory consists of elements that were previously used for various sets: Peter's San Francisco hotel suite (# 147), Henri's restaurant (# 144 and 148) and Tony's hotel suite (# 150).

Deleted scene: This episode's director's cut contained a scene with Richard and Maggie as well as Chase and Gabrielle arriving at the church entrance for Emma's wedding at the same time, exchanging an uncomfortable look. This scene was removed in post-production.

Uncredited extra DOUGLAS MAIDA appears as Dave in this episode again — as usual as a bellboy at the Del Oro.
Compare # 224 for biographical details about this minor rôle and a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about the extra, compare # 034.

Uncredited extra KEVIN G. TRACEY appears as the thick-eyebrowed Tuscany Valley gentleman again — this time as a guest at Emma and Vince's wedding.
Compare # 185 for a list of all his appearances throughout the series.
For details about the extra, compare # 001.

When Emma walks down the aisle, RICHARD WAGNER's "Bridal Chorus" from "Lohengrin" is played.

Uncredited stand-in GORDON HODGINS appears as an extra again — this time in his usual rôle as a Tuscany Valley gentleman at Emma and Vince's wedding.
Compare # 182 for a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about GORDON HODGINS, compare # 001.

Uncredited extra ROBERT HITCHCOCK appears in this episode again as Mr. Winslow. This time, he is a guest at Emma and Vince's wedding.
Compare # 193 for biographical details about this minor rôle and for a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about the extra, compare # 032.

Vickie and Eric's rental limousine is a white stretched 1985 Lincoln Town Car.
It is, by the way, the same picture car that has been in use as Peter's limo since # 151.

In the background, Emma and Vince's wedding limo is visible on the circle drive in front of the church. This rental limousine is a white stretched 1981 Lincoln Town Car.

Mistake: In the scene at Emma and Vince's wedding when Lance ironically says to Vince that Bertha has things well under control, Angela is visible on the lower left corner of the frame (yellow arrow) while she only storms to the altar to help Emma after the cut.
Once again, this is the typical mistake caused by the particular close-up filming technique — check # 001 (Chase and Maggie at the Gioberti Family Cemetery) for details.

Early script drafts suggested for the cliffhanger that Lance and Angela discover that Chao-Li slumped over a pew in the church. They rush towards him, Angela takes him by the hand as he struggles for breath: "Mrs. Channing — I must... go... home..." His eyes close, and Angela desperately says: "I won't let you die, Chao-Li. Do you hear me?". The frame freezes on her weeping. This idea was dropped in rewrites.
