Script supervisor LEE WALKLING submitted an alternate script entitled "Teams and Lovers" for the current episode to the producing staff as an application to be promoted to scriptwriter. It did not materialize though.

From this episode on, the sneak preview before the main title is introduced with the words "Tonight on 'Falcon Crest'..." by announcer ROY ROWAN.

The Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion bedroom Lorraine (and Lance) sleep in is not a set, but a real room — on the upper floor of the very same location used as the Gianinni House in this episode and # 087 (portrayed by HARRY CHANDLER's former home). Check out the photo of the hallway in front of the bedroom from # 087. As the main stairway in the Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion goes the other way round, this is apparently supposed to be the back stairway, which was mentioned only once before in # 066. For a back stairway, however, this staircase seems to be way too big.

Angela talks about her first pregnancy and refers to Julia. Compared to # 155 which will reveal Richard as Angela's first child, this statement seems to be rather odd. Has Angela possibly tried to forget about her real first pregnancy, or does she not "count" her first son because she believes he died in childbirth. From the standpoint of program practices, however, the problem is apparently caused by the writers not having developed the season 6 cliffhanger by this time.

Real-life allusion: In the conversation between Pamela and Richard in his KRDC office, he mentions "Dear Abby", the American advice column founded by PAULINE PHILLIPS under the pen name ABIGAIL VAN BUREN in 1956. The column has been syndicated to be published in 1,200 newspapers.

Uncredited extra DOUGLAS MAIDA appears as Dave in this episode again — first, as a patron at Cyrano's. For another appearance in this episode, see below.
Compare # 224 for biographical details about this minor rôle and a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about the extra, compare # 034.

The establishing shot of the Tahiti hotel where Melissa and Cole spend their honeymoon is stock footage from a film library. It actually features the Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort on Moorea, another French Polynesia island, which is a neighboring island of Tahiti.

Uncredited extra GARY MOERKE appears as the gray-haired Tuscany Valley gentleman again — this time as a patron at Cyrano's.
Compare # 215 for a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about the extra, compare # 072.

The scenes at Reardon's ranch (corral, stables and stalls) for this episode as well as # 092 and 093 are shot at Will Rogers State Park in Pacific Palisades, CA.

Uncredited extra ROBERTA STORM appears in this episode again as Mrs. Winslow — this time as a patron at the Tuscany Downs Turf Club.
Compare # 219 for biographical details about this minor rôle and a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about the extra, compare # 035.

After his earlier appearance in this episode (see above), uncredited extra DOUGLAS MAIDA participates as Dave again — now as usual, as a Tuscany Downs Turf Club waiter.
Compare # 224 for biographical details about this minor rôle and a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about the extra, compare # 034.

The restaurant scene (Melissa and Cole's honeymoon in Tahiti) is filmed at what used to be the Chart House, a restaurant at the Pacific Ocean beach in Malibu, CA. The building has been used differently since filming.

Parts of the dialog between Richard and Lorraine in the emotional scene in his KRDC office were changed from early script drafts shortly before filming.
Dropped was Richard's original line: "It was your decision to have that baby, not mine. Now learn to live with it."
Also, parts of the dialog were spoken by the other character respectively in the script. When they talk about why Lorraine cannot come home to Richard's place, the script suggested as Richard's line: "Do you think I want you there? You can't come home — not while you're carrying the bastard child of Lance Cumson." The "bastard child" reference was taken off from Richard's line in the final version and spoken by Lorraine instead: "Why? Is it because I'm carrying the bastard child of Lance Cumson?" Richard, being the — alleged — bastard son of Douglas Channing, would never have spoken of an illegitimate child like this; neither would he ever have suggested an abortion, so the changes made sense in order to be true to the character.

Bad surprise for DAVID SELBY: Contrary to usual filming practices, KATE VERNON does not only pretend to hit him, but slaps him in the face, indeed!

Fictional entities: Cassandra mentions three wine oriented magazines: The Wine Grower, Great Wines Magazine and Arbor Vitae.

Deleted scene: After the scene with the promo shooting in the Falcon Crest Winery Building, Angela and Emma were supposed to head out: Emma tells Angela she thinks that Damon is a knock-out. Then, they run into Chase and Connie, who are on a tour through the winery. Angela realizes what a perfect match Chase and Connie could be. This scene was removed in post-production.

License plate number of Terry's rental car, the white Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II: 713 NJP.
It is, by the way, the same picture car that was used as Greg's rental car in # 088.

The characters of Cass and Damon's parents were called Rebecca and Rafael (instead of Anna and Dominic) in earlier script drafts. Also compare # 094 for another tentative name for Anna.
