The episode intro with the aerial view of the Tuscany Valley shows Schoenstein Vineyard and Mill Creek north of St. Helena, CA. It is filmed from east to southwest.
In the current episode, only a part of a longer helicopter sequence is shown. The above screen captures show a compilation of elements from various episodes to illustrate the complete flight. Previous and later segments of that helicopter flight are used in the following episodes: # 075, 086, 125 and 209. Other characteristic parts of the flight are used in this season's main title (between the cards of WILLIAM R. MOSES and ABBY DALTON — see screen grab 14), at the very beginning of the season 5 main title (screen grabs 15 and 16) as well as the background picture on ANA-ALICIA's season 8 main title card (screen grabs 17 and 18).

Mistake in the scene in the Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion foyer: When Lance demands more respect from Melissa and Angela, his head is towards Melissa in the close-up first. In the subsequent frame filmed from behind his shoulder, however, his head is suddenly turned towards Angela, who is standing near the pocket doors of the living room.
In the usual process of making a movie or a TV show, scenes are shot at least twice — as a wide angle shot and in close-up, which bears the risk of inconsistencies. Compare # 001 (Chase and Maggie at the Gioberti Family Cemetery) for the advantages and disadvantages of this shooting procedure.

The Tuscany Valley road Cole and Linda drive along is actually Yountville Cross Road in the Napa Valley. It is a montage of various route sections: The first segment shows them driving from east (Silverado Trail in background) to west; in the later segments, they drive in the opposite direction.

Real-life allusion: Cole mentions HUMPHREY BOGART.

Edited scene: Originally, the scene with Linda planning to give her father the present (the photo) started out on the sidewalk in front of the bakery where she has to make the brave decision whether to enter the store or not. The exterior part was dropped in post-production. This episode's location (Paris Bakery in Westwood) would have created a conflict with the usual exterior shots (Sebastiani Building in Sonoma).

Uncredited extra JULIE SALLES participates again as the brunette Tuscany Valley socialite in her 20's — this episode as a nurse at the Tuscany Valley Hospital again.
Compare # 167 for biographical details about this minor rôle and a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about the extra, compare # 020.

Uncredited stand-in MARTHA MANOR appears as an extra again — as a Tuscany Valley Hospital nurse, in a curly brunette wig again. For another appearance in this episode, see below.
Compare # 213 for a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about MARTHA MANOR, compare # 001.

The interior set of Cole and Linda's bedroom in the Gioberti Estate Guest House is the same as the set of Joseph's bedroom (e.g. featured in # 028 — compare screen capture) in the Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion. Joseph's nursery is also the same set as the usual Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion bedroom set; compare # 021 and 028 for more details on the nursery as well as # 001 (guest bedroom in the Victorian Mansion) and # 023 (Lance and Melissa's bedroom) — an easy way to cut down production costs. Only minor changes are made and different furniture is brought in to make the same set look like various rooms.
LORIMAR's original blueprints of this set and many others are available for DFCF members in the Show – Production Office – Filming Locations – Movie Studios – Interior Sets section.

Emma drives a blue 1983 Ford Mustang III Convertible now.

The nightly establishing shot of San Diego is stock footage from a film library. It is filmed from the yacht harbor on Harbor Island Drive towards east.

Uncredited extra ROBERTA STORM appears in this episode again as nurse Winslow; as in the preceding episode, again at the San Diego restaurant where Richard meets Joel Sharp. Coincidence that this Tuscany Valley inhabitant is there at the same time or a case of negligent extras casting?
Compare # 219 for biographical details about this minor rôle and a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about the extra, compare # 035.

Uncredited extra DOUGLAS MAIDA appears as Dave in this episode again — this time as a patron at the restaurant in San Diego where Richard sees Joel Sharp. Is it a coincidence that Dave is there, or is this negligent extras casting?
Compare # 224 for biographical details about this minor rôle and a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about the extra, compare # 034.

Richard's race track will be located just off the main road in the west end of the valley. Compared to the information from # 050, highway 29 becomes Main Street in Tuscany.

10 acres of Falcon Crest (compare # 019) will be condemned to build the Tuscany Downs parking lot.

The fountain on Market Street in Tuscany is on 1st Street East in Sonoma in real life as well. It is opposite Caproni's Italian Bakery. This street has been in use for filming since # 042 (check there for details).
The G.H. Hotz Building (formerly a real store in Sonoma) can be seen nearby.

Compare: When Phillip calls Dr. Foster by his first name, he calls him Otto again (as in # 044), whereas, in # 066 (see the explanation there), Emma calls the psychiatrist Bob.

Uncredited stand-in GORDON HODGINS appears as an extra again — this time in his usual rôle as a Tuscany Valley gentleman who buys a baguette at Caproni's Italian Bakery.
Compare # 182 for a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about GORDON HODGINS, compare # 001.

Uncredited stand-in MARTHA MANOR appears for the second time in this episode (for her previous appearance, see above) — this time at a patron at the doorstep of Caproni's Italian Bakery. The actress is all herself this time with no specific make-up or wig. For her previous appearance in this episode, see above.
Compare # 213 for a list of appearances throughout the series.
For details about MARTHA MANOR, compare # 001.

Cameraman's mistake: In a scene in Chase's office in the Tuscany County Building, the shadow of the microphone can be seen on the wall.

Real-life allusion: Julia and Richard are quoting from "Jabberwocky" from a book by LEWIS CARROLL (1832 – 1898), "Through the Looking Glass", when Richard visits Julia in prison.

Season time frame: According to Maggie, her father was happy about the cruise four weeks ago. So four weeks must have gone by since # 048 when that was mentioned last time.

Mistake: When Angela and Phillip walk to the Falcon Crest Winery Building in the episode finale, they are on the southern part of the driveway behind the Victorian Mansion first (screen grab 1), i.e. closer to the Guest House. Their subsequent POV of the Winery Building and their arrival in the following segment (screen captures 2 and 3) are filmed on the northern part of the driveway though.

Mistake in front of the Falcon Crest Winery Building when Angela receives Chase's injuction issued by Judge Leeds: Her head is tilted down to look at it in the long shot while Phillip's is straight ahead; also, he is standing right behind Angela. In the subsequent close-up, however, Angela's head is straight ahead while only her eyes are looking downward; Phillip's head is pointed downward slightly in this shot, and he is no longer standing right behind her, but at an angle.
Again, this is the typical mistake caused by the particular close-up filming technique — check # 001 (Chase and Maggie at the Gioberti Family Cemetery) for details.

This is the last episode to be filmed in the Wine Country this season. The rest of the season will be entirely filmed in and around Los Angeles.
